COP30 Side Event: Financing the Future with Tangible Youth-Led Climate Innovation in Nigeria

The Challenge

Nigerian youth needed a meaningful platform to participate in MRV (measurement, reporting, verification) processes, Article 6 mechanisms, climate finance pipelines, and the rapidly expanding carbon market, spaces typically dominated by more senior stakeholders.

Our Approach

On 14 November 2025, at the Nigerian Pavilion in the Blue Zone of COP30 in Belém, Brazil, Green Protocol's side event brought together stakeholders and young leaders to discuss how Nigerian youth can participate meaningfully in these processes.

The Outcome

The success of the side event demonstrated a strong collective commitment to placing Nigerian youth at the center of climate solutions, ensuring they are fully prepared to shape a sustainable and prosperous future.
